Yes, it does look increasingly like an easy win for Bush and continued GOP control of Congress.

Let face it the Dems were fighting an uphill battle:

AlGore the Junior is an unpopular, inferior candidate, who gets nailed for his habitual lying and bizarre behavior. The debates certainly made people realize that.

No Dem VP has directly succeeded to the Presidency by election since Van Buren.

Clinton and AlGore could never achieve a majority even when a strong third party was siphoning GOP votes. This year the GOP is energized behind Bush and the third party threat comes to the Dems from Nader, who should siphon some hard Left votes from AlGore - despite AlGore's endorsement by the Communist Party and the Media's hysterics.

Only one Dem in the past 25 years has ever gotten above 50% in a Presidential election and that was Jimmy Carter in the wake of Watergate at @50.2%. AlGore is the unalloyed product of an even more scandal-stained regime.

AlGore's "Great" Prez, Clinton, is widely unpopular and so unpopular with swing voters that he can't campaign without turning voters away from AlGore the Junior.
