It is a fact. Maybe they will lose in court. Most of us looking at the legal issues think that the chances of that are remote. None of the manufacturers are challenging Rambus' patents. They are trying to leverage JEDEC rules against the company. But they have a weak case since RAMBUS gave full technical disclosure to JEDEC in 1993. The JEDEC issues may be thrown out as early as Nov 22 leaving anti-trust and patent infringement. The antitrust issues are very weak since Rambus makes nothing and widely licenses their IP. This leaves patent infringement by the Mu etc on Rambus IP.

So it looks like a great bet.
