I have a Compaq Armada 4120 Notebook, but your problem isn't because of the notebook, it's the Blue Screen Of Death.

Check here:
search.support.microsoft.com

And check here for updates:
www5.compaq.com

It could be anything, a program that conflicts with another, you will have to find out when it occurs, what are you doing, then search the above links.

Fatal exceptions, GPF's are common on Windows machines, that's why all the jokes about them:

hi qu

well, nothing really definitive is showing up for me. just a few references to memory, as in either mem leak or needing to reseat your memory sticks.

but it probably would help if you provided a few more details such as what you are doing (or trying to do) when you encounter the 'blue screen of death'.

you did well in providing the precise error message, but so far i have not been able to run anything down. thecow is the resident master at nailing these error messages.

:)

VXD VWIN32(05)

I found several similar error messages buy never your exact one. Let's try this one:
Go to start button/run/type in "msconfig" (without quotes)/click ok button/ go to startup tab and check to see if you have the program "DMIStart" listed. If so, uncheck the box, click ok and restart. Let us know.

i'll toss a couple more items out there re your blue screen.

in the event that you have registry probs, click on start, then run and type scanreg and click ok. please advise if results come back all right.

next, you can try a workaround i read about for VXD VWIN32 errors, which is to change your display settings from 32 or 24 (true color) to 16 (high color). to get to these settings, right-click your desktop, choose properties, then click the settings tab. you'll see the colors in a drop down menu in the lower left. make note of what it says. if it's either of the above (32 or 24), make the suggested change. click apply and ok.

another recommendation is to download and install a microsoft patch found on this page thepage.org

use the find feature to search VWIN32.VXD on the site and you'll see a hyperlink to retrieve a file called usbsupp.exe

btw, from what i have read, these errors you are getting are indicative of both win95 and win98.

will wait to hear back

good luck

:)

Just ran across one of the replies to your problem. Did you any luck in getting it solved? If so, I'd be interested in what you did.
