Rose: Tues, 11/7 U.S. election day.

I agree with the sentiment expressed in the following article. Both candidates are cut from the same bolt of cloth (read that somewhere within past few days ... maybe on SI boards -- link not handy -- they're BOTH into biz pockets -- made me feel better <g>) ... no room for independent parties, ever ... in my lifetime. Ralph Nader many like; no way, ever. The two parties are so entrenched here.

Just need to get the damned thing over with, one way or the other.

PS: My little opinion a week away is that Gore's gonna take it as the incumbent based on 'the economy, stupid' (a famous campaign line in years past)

... which will piss off so many staunch, self-professed Republican SIers for another four years ...

Some of whom 'run' threads here. Little czar-ish types. Running fiefdoms. Taxes include intellectual compliance (i.e., don't ever disagree with them, under any circumstance) for the 'privelege' to post on 'their' SI boards.

LOL.

PS, Rose ... the 'conspiracy theories' ...

... include that this little flare-up in Middle East could have been provoked by the big oil money, for example, behind the Bush Republican campaign ...

I think that's the wildest notion of what U.S. high-level politics can produce ... but, who knows?

It's not the candidates, it's the money behind them.

They want him in bad enough ... lotsa power via money to cause all kinds of things, perhaps.
