Re: Why has AMD stock been tanking?

I think the main reason is fear regarding the eventual release of P4. Secondary reasons are concern regarding a slowdown in the overall PC market and disappointment with AMD's Q3 report - vs. a year ago it was about a 100% increase but the serial increase was small and ASPs actually decreased slightly. This was due to a delay in the availability of DDR chipsets (to be remedied in a few hours) and no low cost chipsets with integrated graphics, which isn't yet fixed.

The main fear is that Intel's P4 will be very strong - recent leaks and continuing delays indicate that will not be the case and AMD's stock has begun to rise.
