Gene:

You left out the following from your link:

"...Systems are expected to be available in November, and AMD expects widespread system availability worldwide in the first quarter of 2001....Forward-looking statements in this release include the risks that DDR memory and systems based on DDR technology, the AMD-760 chipset and AMD Athlon processors may not be available on the anticipated schedule, that DDR technology may not obtain customer and end-user acceptance, and more generally that AMD may be unable to retain the leadership position in supplying high performance solutions for the performance PC space....."

Ah, the power of the pen (I mean mouse). Remember thant man has no greater pleasure than to edit another man's copy <g>.

Pardon my typo, as I am trembling; I just came in from 2 hours of standing on the freezing sidewalk, looking for the UPS trucks filled w/ DDR PC's. None to be found! Alas, not till November or perhaps 1Q2001. But I'm happy to see that they will likely be shipping in Europe. At least the NEC DDR revenue stream will have a chance to rev up in hockey stick fashion before Dan3 invokes his telekinetic powers and revises the whole history of the Hitachi and NEC agreements. What a crew.

What kind of AMD launch is this? Where are the production systems and where is the volume? For that matter, where is the much promised performance?
