What I'm trying to ask is if a Korean telco chooses WCDMA, according to what you've said, they are going to have to build out their network from scratch? I know this has been debated ad nauseum on this and the other thread, but how in the hell can they justify this expense to their stockholders when they can have CDMA2000 with the minor costs associated from the IS95 networks. If midway thru buildout of WCDMA, they change their minds and must go to CDMA2000 for any reason, they will lose that capital they've invested in WCDMA. What CEO is going to take that chance?

The only explanation is what JGoren has been harping on and that is that the Koreans are getting seed money (or whatever you want to call it) from the likes of NTT.
