Thanks Paul :)

Sorry to have left you to the neanderthals out East. I don't think I could explain - I can just apologize and hope you accept...

600K Co-op? Not me - I live in a cute 2BR apt, just waiting for this Real Estate market to cool off and buy a home.

What have I been up to? Working for a Professional Services company (we used to be a big Cisco VAR, now we do consultative projects). I work with external clients, developing training material for their products (2 projects right now, one is an optical switch device and the second is an edge device that does Frame Relay and IP).

As for Scott's recruiting strategies - if Novell would have me, I would jump at the opportunity :) In fact, the NY office has posted new job openings....

If you are going to get into the hacking thing...that would be interesting. With your experience, I don't think you'd have too much trouble getting into trouble!

I see a main problem with network security is that it's passive and not active. Many companies install software, monitor logs and react to specific parameters (intrusion detection). They never take an active approach. I think alot can be learn by studying the approaches of various agencies entrusted with state security (using honeypots systems is a good start). For instance, disinformation would be a great tool since hackers depend on each other for information....

BUT this discussion has nothing to do with Novell's stock so...
