I also tend to disagree with the notion that a break of 3000 compx results in a doomsday scenario. In fact, I somewhat expect it to happen because of the maximum pain effect it would seem to have on both sides of the ball; longs capitulating and shorts initiating or adding to their posisitions. Look for a potential snapback soon afterwards accompanied by the highest volume levels we've seen so far this season. I might then look for a continuation rally regardless of who's elected, and in anticipation of the fomc meeting Nov 14th. I can foresee the masses calling for a rate cut at that time. And who knows? Given the economic data we've had lately, maybe we'll get it. One thing's for sure and I've made this point before... hefty volatility will remain. Late night ramblings with a dose of wishful thinking... JMHO.
