Considering the functions that parents now expect the schools to take on I am amazed the schools function at all.

Examine this statement again X.

Why is it that parents suddenly have this expectation, one that did not exist when you and I were going to school decades ago?

Is it because school officials have tried to seize control of all aspects of a child's life while away from the parents....

Or is it merely that parents have defaulted on their parental responsibilities, or have threatened to sue should their unruly and disruptive child be suspended or expelled??

Remember back X... remember when you were a child and what would happen to you if the teacher sent a note home with you to be signed by your parents, discussing how bad you've been.

Remember what happened to kids who threatened their teachers, or other students.....

The current school system has NO TEETH when it comes to controlling uncooperative children. As we've discussed before, children are programmed instinctively to dominate one another. Those who don't dominate, become compliant and follow the leaders.

And the reason the school system is inadequate, and discipline has no teeth is, IMO, due both to legal liability, and this false expectation on the part of parents that the school is responsible for raising their child.

And that's why more parents are taking their kids out of school and home-teaching them... and statistically exceeding public school graduates.

Ron
