They were about what I expected. More important though was Anands sudden use of all the boring SPEC scores. A strong hint at what Intels going to try to snow everyone with concerning the P4. Although Anands review was not even close to the quality of Toms, it was far more telling in another way. Seems he knows what benchs Intel will feature with the P4. And AMD needs to get off their duff and make it easier for developers to optimize the Athlon compilers.

Cirrus, HYPE created by us saying gotta get to 760 When I said that, I meant that the corporate penetration will not happen until we get to 760. There seems to be some evidence that it is starting to happen. We got announcement of support for DDR from NEC and Micron and Compaq was mentioned in the press release as well. Joe

Cirruslvr the fact that amd is up or even while intel is down is a deviation from the last week pattern. The reaction of the market is more than I have hoped for so I am not sure where you're coming from Regards -Albert

IMHO, AMD has accomplished two things with AMD 761 - covered many Marchitectural aspects, and provided performance improvements in the areas that are memory bandwidth sensitive. The marchitectural stuff (DDR, 133MHz/255MHz FSB, AGP4X, etc.,) is more important than the other stuff - majority of computer savvy consumers base their system selection on marchitectural trappings even if they don't need them, or they never get to use them. goutama
