Verizon meets Q3 EPS ests.

Verizon (VZ: news, msgs) said it had adjusted consolidated third-quarter profit from operations of 73 cents per share, matching the average analyst estimate compiled by First Call, and topping EPS of 72 cents in the same period last year. Revenue for the period was $16.5 billion, up from $15.4 billion last year. The company added that it was on track to meet its year-end target of 500,000 DSL customers. The stock closed up $2.06 at $53.06 on Friday.
