Dennis,

>>>> Carpino this morning: "The low is in. Once the SPX moves above the Oct 24th high, the market will move up rapidly." <<<<

On many of the indicies, there are BEARISH PATTERNs which are still developing. Even if the SPX was to break above the 10/24 highs, which is around 1415, I would still want to see the BEARISH FLAG be negated which is around 1450 for this week. This BEARISH FLAG in the SPX, as with the others, have a steep incline and the range within the borders of the BEARISH FLAG is about 90 points.

So Carpino can be right, and still trade within the the borders of the BEARISH FLAG. I mention it since some get emotionally bullish at slightly/fairly bullish issues
as we have seen recently. I would become less bearish/more bullish if these patterns are broken to the upside significantly, but that's still a distance away. In the case of the SPX, thats still 80 points away on the upside.

Mueller is looking for another pullback over the first two weeks of November and another retest at end of November with huge runup in December. Nonconfirmation by Nasdaq since lack of follow-through on reversal day. His outlook for early next year appears to be very bearish based on long-term cycles.
