NT's CEO _did_ tout a possible $12 billion.
Great post, thanks. Still trying to ferret
out the facts here.
The attacks on this Jim Cramer are so
vociferous and passionate here. As a personality,
he's irrelevant. It's his 'bear case' that needs
to be examined.
I'm not reading much in this thread that counters
his position.

Again, I'm neither long nor short NT. I'd like
to buy some of these 'optical stocks' once
the dust clears though. Sure, I might miss the
next 10% on the upside. That's ok; I'll wait.
If the potential for these stocks (JDSU, GLW,
SDLI, NT) is so great, there will be enough
upside to assuage my concern over missing
that 10%.

Hi all - I too think we should let go of Cramer. Cramer is Cramer, attacking him --- or defending him, for that matter --- doesn't help NT stk movement. That said, this $12B business is still very strange

OOH, is the lack of explicit disclaimer an impled confirmation? OTOH, this PR

as quoted from Mr Roth directly seems to suggest he did not initiate or even endorse the #

"Whether we can hit ($12 billion) or not I don't know, but it's not impossible," Roth said. "We have to see what orders we have received in the last couple weeks of September and how that firms up in the fourth quarter, but the momentum is strong."

For since when a possibility ["not impossible,"] with conditional, ["We have to see what orders we have received in the last couple weeks of September"]

To me, this is as close to the horse's mouth as you can get. Of course, the reality is that NT did miss accounting for the $300MM inventory on customer's hands. My guess is that the products were delivered and therefore she has failed to account for them, since she is likely to realize this revenue only when the products were delivered. But of course, she should still be able to track them if they require NT engineers to install them. This is one area I think NT needs to beef up. JMHO

best, Bosco
