Hello,

It would be nice if we could put together a profile of all the wireless subscribers that insp has so far and estimate the growth rates.

Their target for the end of the year is 1 million, but based on current numbers, they should blow that away.

Verizon - 400,000
AT&T - 300,000
AllTel - 50,000 (115,000 new wireless. doesn't say what portion were data, so guessing a conservative 50,000)
VoiceStream - ?
Vodafone Australia - ?
Cingular - ?

Also, does anyone have an idea about customers actually using the insp services vs. using the supplied portals like yahoo and aol? during the conference call, naveen jain was asked this and he said people were using it, but no numbers were supplied. does anyone have comments from friends who might be using it?

Thanks,

KS

jb, thank you for the gardenweb.com site. I will look into it, although I am curtailing some of my efforts in the garden.

Ok, that's enough of a plug for them. If only I could access those forums while traveling to the airport in a taxi from my cellphone.

Disclaimer. I and some others on the thread hold shares in Metricom (MCOM). But, if you own a Notebook, or other portable computer, or, soon, a Palm (or other PDA, I believe), and if your taxi ride is in an area served by Ricochet2, you might be able to do just that. You may go to Ricochet.com or Metricom.com to check out the data and locations currently or to be served by the end of 2001.

You cantankerous (not so old) Curmudgeon, jb, you simply must do something about raising the INSP level of the Curmudgeon Meter...quickly!

Sy

Junior, as a consumer of garden info, you've found gardenweb much more useful than garden.com? Of course garden.com's stock price is in the toilet. Just wondering about the content of the sites themselves.

Disclaimer: I do not have a green thumb, but my wife does! :)
