Clean-- Robertson Stephens downgraded NTAP from Strong Buy to Buy on 10/23

their reasons:
1. high valuation
2. increasing competition in NAS, including new offering coming from EMC and VRTS entering the business after hiring away a top exec from NTAP
3. weakness in caching relative to INKT and CFLO

don't know if this particular downgrade is *the* reason for weakness, but it is surely contributing to NTAP's inability to resist the current downslide in nasdaq. Of course, I see nothing but red today, so no one seems to be resisting.

RS was very careful to point out that this downgrade does not reflect any concerns about this quarter, or the future of the NAS market. They still expect growth next year to be 100%, but simply that they don't see how NTAP can exceed 100% growth.

(Yes, I know, voht a country, when 100% growth is not enough and when daring to have a valuation slightly about EMC whose growth is not nearly that high means over valuation)

however...

disclosure: extremely long NTAP
