You are privy to some information I do not have. I had never heard of the Louisville Courier- Journal as having much of a reputation at all. But okay, how about the Tribune? The Dallas Morning News? etc............

How about this flappy,

Mr Clinton was welcomed by the 1,300-strong congregation. “I’m not permitted to give partisan political speeches,” said the Rev Smith, before describing Mr Clinton and his wife, Hillary, as the victims of “an onslaught from hostile forces”.

the-times.co.uk

Don't you think the Rev should turn in his frock and hang his head in shame for such deceit??

Do you agree that all theses black churches that are preaching gore/clinton,should be taxed now??

I got this from a friend via e-mail this morning.

Hi, All,
First of all, let me admit that I am, all too often, put off by the whole election process. I recognize, however, that information is the best resource for making an intelligent choice. Deciding what the truth, is amongst all the verbal (and written) litter, is a daunting task. I wish you luck. This morning I received this FWD. from a good friend and thought to pass it along. To a large degree, I am ignorant of each of your party affiliations. That you are friends and family is good enough for me! So, forgive me if, by sending it, I step on some toes....it is not intentional. Good luck making your choice. The following letter was written by an assistant superintendent with the
school district in Arkansas, who has lived in Texas since 1966. I thought it worthwhile to share. Be sure and VOTE on Nov. 7th As I have listened to the debates between George W. Bush -and Al Gore I felt strongly that I should share with my -acquaintances, especially those outside of Texas, some facts regarding the disparaging remarks about the state of things in Texas that Gore includes in his rhetoric,
exaggerations and prevarications. Until recent years Texas has been dominated and controlled politically by the Democratic Party in the style of LBJ. For many years Texas was known nationally for it's corrupt court system. In turn, Texas was a haven for trial lawyers, not only from around the USA, but from around the world. Most Texans are basically conservative hard working people and as the Democratic Party has become dominated by liberals and +ACI-big government can cure all+ACI- ideas, Texas has made a drastic shift to the Republican Party. The transition has been so pronounced that now not one state-wide elected office in Texas is held by a Democrat from the governor and State Supreme Court all the way down to every elected state
commissioner. Six years ago George W. Bush ran against the incumbent governor, the very liberal feminist and darling of the National Democratic Party, Ann Richards. If you're familiar with Ann Richards you know she's articulate, persuasive and has a razor sharp tongue. She used all of her
political skills and trial lawyer finances to make fun of, pooh pooh, and deprecate George W. for every reason under the sun just as the national media has been doing since he became a serious candidate for president. In spite of all Richards' political skills added to her support from the National Democratic Party, Bush beat her handily for a
four year term. Two years ago the Democrats could hardly muster a viable candidate for the governor's race and George W. won by one of the widest margins ever, carrying two to three times the percentage of the black and Hispanic
votes than is usually garnered by conservative candidates. This was the first time ever a governor of Texas has won a consecutive 4-year term. The reason George W. won so big is because he has been good for Texas. Under Bush academic achievement in the public schools has greatly improved, especially for minority students. Although more funding has
gone for teachers' salaries, Bush has lowered the state property tax rate. In spite of what Gore is saying about Texas education, academic achievement in the 3 R's in Texas has made an about face in the right direction. Without a lot of new bureaucracy Bush's plan for education has simply been to hold individual schools and individual school districts accountable for their academic progress, or the lack of it. Those schools or districts that are low performing are placed under severe sanctions. Good money is not thrown after bad like it is in most federal programs such as the Title I ESEA that spends billions of our tax dollars with no genuine accountability. Under federal programs poor performing schools get more tax dollars, -not less. During his first term Governor Bush gave Texas teachers the biggest raise they have ever received in spite of the fact most of the teacher organizations in Texas, like everywhere else across the country, have for the last three to four decades been in the pocket of liberal Democrats. Although the Texas State Teachers Association supported Ann Richards to the hilt, she didn't give teachers a dime when she was governor. Funny, but that didn't diminish TSTA's loyalty to the Democrats. Also, significant progress has been made in tort reform under Bush. As a result, Texas is no longer the haven for trial lawyers it once was. If you'd like to see what can be accomplished in tort reform just look at Texans for Lawsuit Reform on the web. The national media has been trying to make it look like things are falling apart in Texas because of Bush's leadership. Nothing could be farther from the truth. George W. was so effective in bringing about consensus in the Texas legislature that he was endorsed for his second term by the late Lt. Governor Bob Bullock, Texas godfather of the Democratic Party. Unheard of, but true.
Al Gore and the media are making a big deal about health insurance for children in Texas. The misleading numbers Gore is quoting comes from a glitch in the census which was not cross-matched in time with the passage of the Child Health Insurance Program by the Texas legislature. The Texas legislature is in session only 4 months every two years. CHIP'sis a state wide program now in place for all children who are at or below twice the poverty level. George W. is certainly a man of integrity who has his head screwed on straight. He's not the empty suit the media has tried to make him out to be. He has outstanding leadership skills that build consensus and get things done. In Texas, we are proud of George W. and his achievements for our state as evidenced by his landslide second term two years ago. If George W. Bush is elected president we can be assured we will have a man who is not only an outstanding, capable leader, but also a man who is morally straight who will restore honor to the White House and
Presidency of our United States of America. Thanks for hearing me out. Your welcome to forward this info to anyone
you feel may have an interest in George W.'s Texas record.
