Yes, it does, but I would think that all equipment would not be simultaneously used. I have one cable coming into the house, with 3 tvs and 2 computers. No loss of speed. I will say, though, that my neighbors don't seem to have cable modems, although they all have cable. (In this case only, go AOL, go!)
When Charter offers telephony and, eventually, power to the house, they will add an amplifier to each house.
