He knows lighting inside out, but I think he is having trouble with keeping his biz kicking out enough profits, so be careful before you send him a big chunk of money.

If I were you, I would put in an E-code lamp(s), you use 7" round on that thing?, and then an H4 90/130 watt bulb and rewire the thing for the high draw. 8 or 10 gauge should probably work with your short wire run. That would be a huge difference from what you are likely now running. If you are using sealed beams, we are talking 100s of percents better.
