Frank, has this AnandTech benchmark report on the new AMD chipset, DDR, etc., made it in here yet? If not, he has an interesting comnlusion in it. -TV

In comparison to the upcoming Pentium 4, even with DDR SDRAM and the 133MHz FSB it may be difficult for a 1.2GHz Athlon to compete with a 1.5GHz Pentium 4 in many benchmarks. AMD may be forced to release a higher clocked Athlon in order to remain competitive performance-wise, however they will almost definitely hold the price to performance ratio crown throughout the rest of the year.

Frank,

Any idea why the big news out of AMD last night that everyone over on the Mod thread was wild about is not moving AMD stock today?

While the AMD thread gets excited about silly thing as undisputed technological leadership, growing revenue, growing earnings, growing market share, growing production capacity, the market overall has a lot more important things on it's mind.
