Richard. I REALLY don't wish to get into this mess as it is no win for me, but... My OPIONION is that those that bow down to bullies do a great disservice besides being just spineless. Many of us are the type that would continue to do it just out of spite. We fight back when we feel we have not been treated fairly. Often we hurt ourselves in the fight, but the principle of not backing down takes on great importance. My guess is he has lost much, if not all, the "high esteem" he once had and might have joined the "fighter" camp. Well, you got my 2¢ worth of pop psychology and you get to keep your 2¢. 8) The flip side to your suggestion (that he just stop doing it because Bob doesn't like it.): Why shouldn't reasonable people DEMAND or at least REQUEST that Brinker forget about it and move on like a grownup? No wonder our country accepts high school girls bringing their babies to classes and accepts sexual harrasment in the Oval office or continues to pay rapist Mike Tyson to fight. Most of you don't hold the stars accountable. Myself, I gave up baseball over how Barry Bonds and many others acted in the early 1990's and don't miss the sport a bit. Kirk out

Richard: Nice post and I am in agreement with much of what you say. David does not have to admit he was wrong. I will not in any way rejoice if he were to stop. I think people have paid a high enough price. Whatever happens, happens at this point and life goes on. I heard that Kirk has spread rumors on his Suite 101 site about me. Let me say right here and now that I have never been suspended or kicked off or in any way disciplined here on SI for any actions whatsoever and anyone can ask the administration here with my consent to prove that what I say is the truth. How can I be here if I was kicked off SI? I left as a result of my own decision because of what Kirk and David were attempting. It failed but I decided to leave anyway. Kirk is wrong and owes me an apology. But I don't expect this from him. I don't really care. You won't find me roaming the net saying that Kirk called me "scum of the earth" or defamed me in endless tirade. I can forgive and forget and I have already. I actually would prefer it if he got help instead. Life has been good to me. I hope it has been good for you all as well. Best to all of you and good luck!!!
