Jim,

I don't get this Rambus rebate program at all. I am sure there is some catch if I thought about it harder. But why not make it simpler and just sell the CPU for $70 less?

I think that is a poor way of looking at things - Paul typically reserves the right to post based on such perverse logic ;-)

If Intel can sell a P4 for $400 and gives a $70 discount, that is still $330 in Intel's pockets - a lot more than what Intel will make from a Giga-mine in Q1.
