I would love to have a tax cut but that is not my big issue. I more want fairness for everyone and leadership that is not divisive and dishonest. People who have had the best and firsthand opportunity to view Bush in action are universally high on him and his ability to build consensus and get good things done. I really want an America I can be proud of again. I don't like the one we have. I am willing to suffer with everyone else if things don't go right for us. I don't like selective suffering and selective benefits. Bush says it right when he says a President shouldn't pick and choose in penalizing one group while rewarding another. Also, I don't like the idea of playing games and creating confusion to give the impression of benefiting people while not actually doing so. Case in point, Gore says to the American people they will get a 10000. tax deduction for a child to go to college. What he doesn't say is that it is for only the first child to go in the family and also it is in lieu of the personal exemption and also you have to be in a certain income group to qualify. To qualify you will be in a group that the exemption will mean little because of the marginal rate and most of those people will take the standard deduction. So, it is nothing but a con job.
