You are thinking like a Leninist: the worse the better, for it hastens the revolution. Well, I don't want a real revolution. Revolutions are messy and ugly, they tend to eat their own, and meanwhile the country suffers. Pseudo- revolutions, like the Contract with America, are not so bad, and can clear out the cobwebs. But I do not like the sound of wishing for tragedy so that the cause may prosper. It is already too callous.......
