"Sledgehammer" to smash them all! Sledgehammer is expected to sample during the final quarter of 2001 on an 0.13-micron copper process. It is stated to be the first chip to make use of the company's Lightning Data Transport (LDT) interconnect technology, while also featuring two processors on one die (CMP), a shared L2-cache, and probably shared instruction decoding. We will go in more detail about the Sledgehammer and other promising (non-AMD/Intel) cores in the future .
