couldawoulda, I am bullish long term but am out of the market for the most part after this morning. I noticed AH that MRVC, AMCC, SCMR, GLW and JDSU continued to drop. If we need to see real PE's, then SCMR, CORV, AVNX, ONIS and others could be in trouble. If the IPO market dries up, MRVC could take a real hit. NT, GLW and JDSU seem to be the safest way to play the sector until the dust settles. I put some money in foliofn a month or so ago after first reading the SSB report. I included all of the companies mentioned in the report. It is a hair in the red so far, but not bad compared to the equipment makers.

The sell side analysts don't have a clue. their projections mean nothing and for the most part are based on momentum and to direct price action to benefit their holdings.

the RHK report has been translated in diametric ways in the Nortel article and the other version. I believe that there will be true winners in the growth of the optical networks. to dump on JDSU in a market that is expected to grow as much as it is over the next 4 years is ridiculous. If NT can position itself well in the access market, it will also continue to excel.

There are a lot of ifs in the short term so I plan to be careful until the worm turns. good luck, tp
