OT When life begins When my wife and I were told she was pregnant we knew from that moment(one month) that we had a human life to love and protect. It would be quite different for a 14 year old victim of rape, or an impovershed woman in a third world country and so on. So when life begins is very personal and that is why I feel each women must decide on her own with help of course from family, clergy, doctors etc. For government to decide that life begins the moment the post-sex cigaret is lit as the Republican platform would have it, will make the problem worse. Trust the women and rely on education and birth control to make abortions more rare. There really is no other choice to make unless you want us to do what the Chinese did in the opposite way--forced births. And be assured that most women will choose life when they excercise choice. That is the most we can hope for right now.
