My dear GerPol, I'm sorry if I was mistaken about your mood. You take a very dim view of anyone with money, or in pursuit thereof. That seemed to me a mark of a very disenchanted person. I'm glad at least your family enjoyed my mistake. Just to ensure it was a mistake, ask your family if they consider you an optimistic and cheery fellow. >You didn't give much thought to expanding on my ideas...........just same old negative BS. Ideas? Negative BS? You lost me this time. I've expanded on or critiqued a number of your ideas. Thanks for bringing them to the thread. Many of your statements, however, did not seem to invite extended discussion - either because they were simply expressions of intolerance or because they appeared to be jokes. To be fair, what have you contributed? I hope your ideas are deeper than can be expressed in your one-liners. Try expanding your own ideas into concrete policies, and see where it leads. Or try expanding or critiquing others' ideas, instead of shooting them down with "little barbs". >look ! Lighten up a bit........where all going to get a shovel full of dirt in the face in the end. Like my father is fond of saying "In the end, it all doesn't matter." So what? Until then, it does. I know what happens in the end, and I can't do much about it. What I can do is try to make the time between now and then worthwhile. You're right, I do get a bit serious when it comes to politics. It's because it matters to me and my attempts to make my life as productive and rewarding as possible - as well as the lives of people I care about. I also can't stand the irony of well-meaning people advocating policies that cause the impoverishment and suffering of millions around the world.
