ike, correct. ss tax will just go up and the $6.75/hr dude with no house and no automobile is going to be giving $1.50 to support someone with a paid off house who makes 4-5 times more than he does. not to mention he'll pay income tax on $0.75 of the $1.50 he has to contribute b/c he's supporting a "fair" system. if 15% is good, 25% must be better, right? where does it end? which means the $6.50/hr guy may get minimal benefits while those supporting him pay HUGE taxes. click your heals and repeat after me... higher taxes and lower benefits... higher taxes and lower benefits... higher taxes and lower benefits...
