Microsoft Sees South Asia Growth

By Jacqueline Wong

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - Microsoft Corp (NasdaqNM:MSFT - news) expects revenue
from South Asia to grow 30 to 40 percent a year and sees demand for technology and
declining piracy rates in the region aiding its bottom line, its director for South Asia said on
Tuesday.

``Asia has been very a good contributor to Microsoft's growth over the last two years after
the crisis and we expect this to continue,'' regional director Christophe Aulnette told
Reuters.

South Asia, which includes India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia
and Vietnam, was one of the fastest growing regions for the software giant and accounted for
about two to three percent of its global revenue.

``Thirty to 40 percent (year-on-year) is the kind of growth we expect,'' Aulnette said.
