Don, i think you're exactly right..this IS what is happening. my favored trading strategy of late has been to buy whatever seemed excessively weak on strong down days (so i have bought a collection of down-and-out techs in recent days), and sell and actually short the very same stuff after it has rallied ,while buying whatever has been weak again. it's a bit more work than i am accustomed to, but this is a trading market, not one where it makes much sense to marry positions.

regards,

hb

Hi Don,

I should have known you are a fellow chess player. I have long admired your analytical and level-headed approach dissecting the market action and behavior. You never seem to get worked up about things one way or the other. Calm, rational thinking are your hallmark. I've learned a great deal reading your posts daily and appreciate your presence
on this thread. Judging from your trading notes, I see now
why you make your moves, one at a time, slowly building up
your position, wearing the opponent down bit by bit. A great
player to emulate. Just want to say thanks.
Regards,
Eichler
