There are others out there as well. Every one of them should be looking at ViaSat as a neutral provider of complex equipment for satellite communications. ViaSat is not a competitor, merely a provider of equipment, something that gives them a leg up on Hughes and Gilat.

From the PR: "Astrolink and ViaSat have also entered into a Memorandum of Agreement under which ViaSat will provision, market and supply Astrolink's broadband satellite services to customers. As a part of this agreement, ViaSat is committed to a multi-million dollar purchase of broadband satellite services from Astrolink over a multi-year period. The agreement, which is subject to the negotiation of definitive documentation and related agreements, is expected to enable ViaSat to offer value-added broadband service to its existing and planned VSAT customers and through expanded sales channels developed jointly with Astrolink."

They will be competing with all who offer broadband services to the business world, won't they?

Valueman,

why don't you just do the press releases for vsat from now on?

I do think that PR yesterday misled investors in terms of timing. It should have also laid out the path more clearly.
