SUNW is a strange case. Just about as many analysts follow SUNW as INTC. Yet, as you say, SUNW seems to get a free pass these days.

My guess is that SUNW stock's performance has scared the analysts from saying anything negative about the company. Indeed, using Bloomberg's data, 24 of the 26 analysts that follow SUNW have buy ratings, which is about as bullish as you ever see.

This seems a lot like the attitude toward DELL a couple of years ago. Now, of course, as DELL's growth has slowed, the stock price has slowed down, and it is easy to find people negative on DELL. If SUNW follows the same pattern, you'll see analysts jump all over SUNW--after the stock price has already declined 50%.
