A couple quick comments from the conference: * John Sidgmore said UUNet is still experiencing 8 to 10X growth per year, the same as it was three years ago. In the VC forum, Geoff Yang from Redpoint Ventures was asked what he's looking for and he listed fiber optic components as number one. * George Kelly, MSDW's telecommunications analyst, said optical componets is the hottest space. This [optics as the answer to bandwidth] is the limiting factor. Near-term he said to watch CSCO's guidance. If it's cautious, look out. He then added, "I don't that that will be the case." Gotta run. . . Pat
