The rehabilitation of President Bush, 76, who became a near-pariah in Republican circles after breaking his promise not to bring in new taxes and then losing to Mr Clinton in 1992, will be complete later this week when he appears in Florida to support his son, George W Bush. After the scandals of the Clinton administration, Republicans believe voters yearn for a return to the traditional values espoused by the Bushes. The Texas governor has promised to return "honour and integrity" to the White House. President Bush won Florida in 1992 and his appearance in the state underlines his son's need to repeat that feat. With 25 of the 270 electoral college votes needed for victory, Florida has become one of the crucial battlegrounds of the 2000 White House contest. **************** What's good for the goose (Gore), is good for the gander (Bush)... If Algor Mortis wants his "patron taint" to campaign for him in California, GW can bring out dear old dad to help him out in Florida... Apparently Gore was quite effective in inciting the fears of senior citizens in that state.... God!!.... I just can't imagine the US having an outstanding foreign debt of up to $11 Trillion 20 years from now. And worse, it could soar to $40 Trillion if Gore gets all of his entitlement programs passed through because when the "boomers" retire, none of that money supposedly set aside in the trust fund will be there... There will be nothing but a ***tload of IOUs that our poor children will have to struggle to pay off with their payroll taxes. And Gore thinks Bush is advancing "risky" programs?? Geezus!!!
