PartyTime, when you compare them you are right. I consider the Republicans to be a breath of fresh air. It is true none of them are perfect. But, to use an analogy, it is like if Gore was a rapist or perjurer and Bush has speeding violations. I would choose Bush over Gore in those circumstances and with dedicated vigor.
