paulr1: Well I am going to start out by apologizing for once again getting personal about those behind the scenes. I have spent time in manufacturing/production and know those that have to perform the task are not always those that are at fault for not delivering.

It is not easy trading in these fast moving markets with some of the problems your customers have experienced with Qfeed. These problems coupled with the fix delays breed frustration, which manifest itself on this thread at times. If you have ever traded for a living you should understand the frustration level can run hot and cold. Most of us tend to let the problems ride until the problem causes us to loose money, not just opportunity.

Well I guess I was just glancing over those posts you listed when I first read them. I assumed that the servers were just being moved around and Quote.Com had yet to put into operation a complete new server farm. If that is the case, then I can assume there are now more servers in operation than ever before. If so, I stand corrected and you have my apology. However, in all fairness it has been a long time coming...

I trust the new IP Comstock feed will not be riddled with problems after the long testing process that has preceded the roll out.

My earlier experiences with Qfeed, forced me to make sure I covered all my bases. So I do agree your customers should take steps to make sure the problems are not on their end. I completely upgraded my computer systems. Making sure to include redundancy at all levels of equipment, software and services. I log on via a DSL line which averages 750K bps. I have two additional dialup ISP providers with each computer hooked to a different POTS line. Prior to upgrading my office, I lost more than twice the money I spent completely upgrading my office in just one trade due to datafeed problems. Having redundancy at all levels is just good insurance when trading fast moving markets.

I will state for the record, since going to a high speed DSL line, some of the problems I have encountered in the past with Qfeed have greatly diminished. A request for a chart no longer hogs my bandwidth clogging up my dialup pipeline with each download. However, the level two trash is still a problem and on occasion, some charts (different intervals) experience significant server response delays at times.

I think I’ll continue to retain the QCharts/Qfeed service as I have continued to pay for this service for some time awaiting the improvements. I am hopeful you (Quote.Com) are close to resolving the problems why would I want to jettison the service now? I would like nothing more than going back to the good old days when I was one of your biggest cheerleaders. Albeit with reservations, as I would not want to see the customer base increase so rapidly once again that service begins to degrade.
