I want Condoleeza Rice as National Security Advisor and Colin Powell as Secretary of State, because they are qualified, and not just because they are black. I would be happy to see an Asian and Hispanic sought out for Cabinet posts, as long as they are qualified. I think we should go out of our way to broadcast the themes of inclusion that were set at the convention, always, however, making sure that we do not demean the office, but appoint highly qualified persons. Politics always plays a role in appointments. What better political theme than one that says: "We are all Americans, and can truly go where our talents, hard work, and luck take us!"
