Well I am learning to trade the volatility but I do it very cautiously. As in on these selloffs I buy a small lot of OTM calls on issues I watch all day--such as cien, jnpr, beas, etc. They seem to trade up and down in a similar range of late. So I bot some cien calls on the selloff yesterday and flipped them for a point, and did the same with beas. They both just hit. In one case it was a double and in the other about 40%.

I am thinking maybe I should establish a small trading account in which to do this, so that psychologically it's separate from my regular brokerage account, and poor deflated keogh (extr and nt--yikes!). It could be interesting.

OTOH, this volatility may be about to change to a bull. Just when I finally get used to it!
