Actually, if they were old entities that actually made money, they would pick Jan 31 for the year end. permanent delay in paying taxes, until it doesn't matter to you all that much, i.e. death. -g-

I have never heard a satisfactory answer for 10-31. For example, a ton of hospitals have a 9-30 FYE. Why? Because that was the US gov'ts year end and with the introduction of mediscare back in '66 some thought it would make things easier if they ran on the same timeframe. It didn't matter, but at least you could see some logic.
