According to my conversation with my friend whose been visiting, we finally determined the source which mentioned when Bush last had a press conference was NBC's Tom Brokaw the day before yesterday. Apparently, it was a verbal description as part of Brokaw's description of why Bush declined to participate in the Evening Question to the Candidates.

Still, no one's been able to prove that Bush has done a press conference since the second week of September. Seems like he's hiding from the press.

I suppose I could have called up the respective campaigns to determine the exact date for a news conference for both candidates, but, hey, I don't even have time to respond to the 40 or so messages in my SI inbox. (LOL)

Meanwhile, Medal of Honor winner, Senator Bob Kerrey (Nebraska), in today's Boston Globe, has attacked Bush again on his military record, accusing the GOPwinger of being AWOL. Kerrey said he could "understand if he [Bush] forgot a weekend. But 18 months?"

Can any of you readers remember having an 18-month gap in your lives, particularly as it relates to military service? Probably not.

Since the Globe first reported the Bush AWOL story last May, Bush has declined an interview to provide clarity. Furthermore, there's all kinds of reward money out there for someone to come forward and prove Bush's claim he was served when he said he did. Thus far, no one's come forward for the money or to offer any proof that Bush did what he said he did.

Could Bush become the first president, commander in chief, who actually was AWOL from military service? But due to political connections of his dad, never he never got wrung up on the charge?

At least in Clinton's case, it was a clearcut draft dodge and for all intents and purposes, Clinton has admitted as much. With Bush, however, he's trying to put one over on the American people.

And Senator Kerrey, who lost his leg serving in Vietnam, doesn't like it. Neither do I. Do you?
