rjc, the beauty of my system is that benefits would be greatly reduced. what does this mean? in my world, the folks with lots of dough would have paid less into the system. much less. the idea that older americans are poor is not true. most are doing quite fine. i understand that, as a group, they are the most well off americans.

as you say, it is wrong to turn around and change the system so contributors of 15% of their wages for their entire life get nothing. that is why i'm mad at the self sereving and short sighted creators of the current system.

even so, i'm in my mid 30s and you know how much i expect to receive in ss? bupkiss. you know how much i expect to pay. more and more as a % of income.

it is also wrong to set up a pyramid scheme that will one day collapse as the elderly live longer and longer.
