<< Get real. Last yr AMD filed for more patents than Intel; and you are trying to claim a handful of engineers out patented Intels thousands of engineers. And just what did Dirk have to do with Dresden; or flash? Getting this amount of patents requires not only good team leaders, but also good team members, and just as importantly, the right atmosphere. Jerry sets the tone, the rest do the work. >>

Jerry set the tone for being late on dresden, duron infrastructure, multi-processor chipsets, mobile chipsets, and integrated chipsets. He set the tone for the worst public relations I've ever seen, for marketing that is down right pathetic. He's sure set the tone alright. He's bailed out because they basically have 2 good products, the athlon which is probably mostly attributable to a few people, and flash which they just happened to be at the right place at the right time as the market exploded.

<< I would too, but I have yet to see on CNBC or anywhere else where the executive has come in and said he was no good, and the stock jumped in price. Every CEO I have ever seen has always said nice things about his company. As soon as Jerry says the company is crap, I am outta here. >>

Sure, if someone said the company was no good, I expect him to defend it, but he's abbraisive and antagonistic whether he is attacked or not.

<< But I could be wrong; so please provide me with some links. In fact, put your money where your mouth is. I will bet you can't provide any links where Jerry has called any analysts roadkill, or its equivalent. >>

Not all analysts are Ashok Kumar, and if Jerry was only rude and abbraisive to him I would applaud his efforts.

<< HHHMMM, maybe that is why GM has such a high multiple, or NSM, or LSI, or just maybe you haven't been observant enough to realize we are in a bear market and most of the companies lost capitalization the last 3 months. If you haven't observed that yet, what have you observed? >>

GM is a totally irrelevent comparison since the auto industry is not a high growth industry. NSM and LSI have both forcasted doom and gloom ahead of them with declining earnings, and LSI still has a trailing multiple of 5x ours. AMD is expecting another record breaking quarter ahead of them with more to come after that. What's AMD's problem then? The problem is they can't get anyone to believe their story because their CEO isn't trustworthy.

<< You call it Jihad, other people call it competition. Whatever. What happens if Jerry does win the jihad. How much will your 50 shares of AMD be worth then? And if you think Jerry can't win, then sell. Who gives a sh*t? Quit expecting Jerry to do your bidding. The long term health of AMD is far more important than you getting a few extra bucks for your shares tomorrow. >>

How do you win a jihad against the analysts? Why would you even try, you're trying to fight the people who can help you the most. That's just plain stupid. As for winning against intel, that's great, but they'll win based on their product line up, not because Jerry did anything great.

You seemed to have missed my entire point, I like AMD the company, I like their product, I didn't buy stock in Jerry, I bought stock in the athlon, I bought stock in the flash division. AMD's competitive advantage over the past year has been so great it would have been hard for management to mess it up, and it sure looks like they tried anyway.

I own the stock because I think AMD can win inspite of Jerry Sanders not because of him, and I agree that the long term health is very important, and the long term health of the stock price would be greatly improved if we managed expectations well, provided concise, accurate guidance, and conduct ourselves with integrity. These are 3 things Jerry Sanders has failed to do, and will likely continue to fail to do for the remainder of the time he spends with the company.
