Ten, thread, Motley Fool post giving details of that webcast tomorrow. Tune in and see if there is any substance to that rumor. - TV

Subject: Re: INTC v. AMD Date: 10/31/00 4:28 PM

Intel posts their financials at www.intc.com where there would also be Intel's own growth outlook. Tomorrow Intel is hosting its bi-annual business outlook meeting with analysts. I believe it's being webcast on their site as well. It's from 2-4pm PST. Obviously growth outlooks are much debated on the AMD and Intel boards so you can probably find info around here too.

One thing I've noticed as increasingly important in the AMD v Intel controversy is that the best technology doesn't really translate to the best investment. For some reason AMD seems more affected by Intel's stock price and announcements than Intel's own stock price is.

One last plug for Intel -- remember Intel no longer relies on just its microprocessor business. They've been having great success in branching out into Flash memories, wireless communications and computing as well as networking silicon.

Best of luck!

I don't work for AMD, Mr. T. As to your questions, I guess Mr. Itanic will have to answer them for himself. The slippage of Merced into permanent pilot production might compare well with random canceled projects, but other than that, it's pretty much in a class by itself.
