You're using fuzzy math. How do you think AMD will supply the commercial market without giving up any of the retail? Conjure production magically out of thin air? Sure, AMD is ramping up Fab 30, but Intel is also ramping up production like crazy. For AMD to go from 17% to 30% unit market share, they'd have to almost double production while Intel stands still or even declines. How likely is that scenario?

What you described was a way for AMD to increase profit margins by shifting their product lines from low-margin retail to high-margin commercial. But AMD's goal of "30% market share" is in terms of unit shipments, not profit margins. That's why I think AMD should give up on the "30% market share" goal, and change it to "increase profit margins while maintaining unit market share."
