Microsoft Co-Founder Allen Files To Sell 15M More Shares

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--Microsoft Corp. (MSFT) co-founder Paul Allen filed
to sell 15 million more common shares of the company, according to a Form
144 released Tuesday by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Allen listed Oct. 25 as the approximate sale date for the shares. First
Union Securities and Morgan Stanley were listed as brokers. The shares had a
market value of about $914.5 million, the filing said.
The filing is the third Form 144 the SEC has released this week showing
Allen registering to sell company shares. As reported, Form 144s released
Monday and earlier Tuesday by the SEC showed Allen registering a total of 20
million Microsoft shares.
Allen is assuming a new role as senior strategy adviser to the company and
won't be seeking re-election to the company's board at the next shareholder
meeting Nov. 9.
A Form 144 allows for the sale of restricted stock, but it isn't a
commitment to sell.
