tim, you forgot to add that the govt can, and has, continued to raise ss taxes. higher %s, higher limits. sure, some think ss is great at 15% of their income. what about 20% b/c that is where we are headed. what about 25%?

oh, and remember you get income taxed on the ss tax, if i recall correctly. nothing like double taxation to warm the cackles of one's heart! ;-)

what a grrrreat system.

why should a guy making $6.50 an hour pay 15% marginal ss tax while bill gates pays either nothing ot 1 or 2% on his marginal dollar?

again, what a grrrreat system. very regressive taxation on a shaky intellectual foundation. actually illegal if you or i tried to set one up at work.
