But we were hearing it from Armey and Co. several years ago. What happened? Clinton shot it down. A flat tax would make everyone pay the same percentage. Also an exemption on the first ?$26,000 or thereabouts. Sounded good to me.

I think we're in agreement about tax equity. There is also a lot of lip service about tax rates being progressive. The 31% tax bracket, which is only 8 points below the top bracket, starts at about half the median income in this area. I think there's too many tax breaks such as the various tax credits and deductions that reward consumption and borrowing to the detriment of savings and of tax equity.

So now I'm learning GOPwingers don't like the X-33 space glider. Matters not technology is important, or that maybe Gore sees something in a passenger airplane that also goes into space--Bush has gotta win! GOPwingers now trying to blame Gore on the X-33, even though it hasn't had a chance to succeed.
