CNN Joins the Campaign #1

“Meanwhile, the Bush campaign machine, in a possible sign of nervousness over the continued close nature of this race with a mere seven days to go to Election Day, unleashed a punishing new television ad that paints Gore as willful spinner of untruths.” [CNN, 10/31/00]

So, if Bush spends any money on ads between now and election day, he’s nervous? But if Gore runs ads that’s fine. Thanks for the OBJECTIVE interpretation, CNN!

Oh, yeah, and also, Gore has a “campaign”, but Bush has a “campaign machine”.
