Excerpt from a Presidential debate.....

Jim Lehrer: Vice President Gore, Governor Bush, why did the chicken cross the road?

Gore: I fought for the chickens... and I fought for the roads that can be crossed... I still fight for chickens and better crossing roads... in fact, I voted for the chicken road crossing bill in 1993... unlike my opponent who voted against that very same bill... he didn't care whether that chicken crossed the road or not... and I will continue to fight for chickens and roads that are more easily crossed...

Jim Lehrer: Governor Bush?

Bush: I don't want the government to decide for that chicken, I trust that chicken... my opponent trusts big government, I trust the chicken... I trust the chicken to decide for himself whether he wants to cross that road... roads are important... they bring people together... that's good... I have nothing against that chicken crossing the road, but I believe that chicken can make up his own mind and cross the road or not cross the road as he chooses... he doesn't need Washington to decide for him.....

Jim Lehrer: Thank you, gentlemen.....

Go figure.....<g>
